The following green building and sustainability approaches were incorporated
in the design and construction of Barboro Flats:

•  Energy Star Appliances
•  Low VOC Paint Selections
•  Shared courtyard to maximize open space for residents
•  Natural light in living space / Operable Windows in every unit
•  Highly reflective roofing surfaces to limit heat absorption
•  Urban infill development that is less than 1 mile from key services (drug store, rest., bank, grocery, doctors, etc.)
•  Adjacent to transportation including trolley and 1/4 mile from two bus stops
•  Redevelopment on a ŇbrownfieldÓ site with existing utilities
•  High Recycled Content (both interior and exterior finishes)
•  Regionally manufactured exterior building materials
•  Pollution controls during construction
•  No increase in storm water runoff
•  Recycled Fill
